Sterling Airlines has announced it will be introducing organic food on all its scheduled flights, claiming to be the first carrier in Northern Europe to do so.
Among the organic meal choices offered to customers will be sandwiches and muffins, with Brunchbags available for €8 (£6) and sandwiches costing €6.50 (£4.90).
"In-flight food has never been especially exciting, but we have decided to change all that," said Michael T Hansen, the airline's commercial manager.
"In close co-operation with nutrition experts and our catering company, we have developed some much tastier products which are at the same time healthy and 100 per cent organic."
Last month Sterling launched a special Funny Meal for children on all its flights, and that option, which will also now be made up of organic foods, costs €6 (£4.50).
The airline currently operates flights to a range of Scandinavian destinations, including Copenhagen and Stockholm, from London Gatwick, Edinburgh and East Midlands Airport.
